Christmas was a celebration of tremendous importance to the Victorians and signified the beginning of “the season” for winter parties and balls.

From the magnificently ornamented tree in the Empress Sitting parlor that turns as you are greeted by tiny porcelain dolls, handmade ornaments, and items from nature, to the small electric train that circles the tree to the elegant feather tree in the ladies parlor with snippets of Victorian paper, scarlet ribbons, gold candle clamps with real 3” candles and creatively made cotton batting ornaments that will delight the even oldest “child” among you. Every guest room at the inn has its own themed tree to create magic throughout the entire mansion.

Breakfast is a festive affair with some special hand made surprises for our guests. And old fashioned homemade eggnog will challenge your ideas about this well known holiday treat at our social hour from 4-5 p.m. daily.
